Celebrity Workouts: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Goals...

If you've ever looked to 'The stars' for some workout motivation, chances are you've seen this guy "Banging & Clanging" in his 'Iron Paradise' gym.

Dwayne Johnson has over 141 MILLION followers on Instagram and regularly posts his insane workouts for us all to watch and envy whilst we eat that doughnut.


Naturally, this was the only man capable of Playing Hercules in the 2014 film. In order to look the part of the Demi-god , 'The Rock' had to put on even more size!

The workout routine he followed is actually fairly simple to summarise... Lift F***ing heavy and EAT everything. One of his training days would be based solely on sculpting God like arms. This is the workout I put to the test to see how realistic it is for us mere mortals to follow.

This is Dwayne's "Hercules arm workout":


Biceps

Tri-set: 4 x 12 reps:

  • EZ Bar Preacher Curls

  • EZ Bar Standing Curls

  • Dumbbell Curls

Triceps

Tri-set: 4 x 12 reps:

  • Rope Push-down

  • Rope Overhead Extensions

  • Tricep Dips to Failure


And that's that!


Review

Simple exercises and very effective! This killed my arms! Definitely felt it the next day(s).

The trouble I think people have with Tri-sets is that it's difficult to get the weight right. So that first set might be a bit hit or miss. However, doing these exercises back to back results in an insane pump (The goal of The Rock's routine).

Positives

  • Easy to follow

  • Minimal equipment

  • Time saver

Negatives

  • I didn't become Hercules
